As my term as president comes to an end at the end of June-2015....... I want to thank all of The Rotary Club of Key Largo's members for all the hard work you all did all year. We had some good laughs, fun and great fundraisers..but it was all worth it when you saw how many scholarships our club was able to award Students of our community!!! I would also like to Thank you, our Key Largo community, for all your support to our club! We know we have alot of great organizations in our community and we come to you for donations or sponsorships for our Annual Events,...... We hope you attended & enjoyed our FREE Community Appreciation event which was our way of THANKING YOU and giving back a little!!!!
A special thank you to the Board Members, Chairpersons & members (Amy & Gretchen) who had to do a little (really ALOT!) extra work --but it did not go un-noticed or unappreciated.
Thank you to the Upper keys Rotary Club, and Bette Brown, my ice bucket challenge partner~ for your support of our club and enhancing the partnership of our two clubs together which we hope continues to grow!
To the HILTON-Key Largo---the best view in town--not a bad way to wake up at 730 am! Anne -William and staff you guys always take care of us! Thank you.
So many to thank, but know your support of our Club is very much appreciated!!!
Nancy Alvarez, President 2014-15
We, as members of the Rotary Club of Key Largo, have great fellowship and many opportunities to participate in many charitable endeavors, especially those that benefit young people. We are known in District 6990 and the community as the “fun” club as we plan many activities throughout the year, in addition to our interesting weekly breakfast meetings.
To me, the simplest form of commitment is to show up. That is what makes Rotary great. If you show up and you raise your hand when that call comes, your life will change. The people you are sitting next to have all made the same first step to show up (early in the morning!) to come to a group that many might think is totally antiquated and boring. What RCKL has done is turn that on its head. We have fun; but what’s important is we can and should make a difference.
I promise to do my best to address as many of your ideas & suggestions you all provided. We are all very passionate people & remember Diversity is a good thing! I truly look forward to our year together as we light up Rotary in 2014-2015 together!
Where “Service Above Self“ is our Rotary motto and
the Four Way Test is a great way to live our lives,
a key to a happy life is to:
Do all the good you can,
By all the means that you can,
In all the ways that you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times that you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can!
Yours In Rotary,
Nancy Alvarez, President
Rotary Club of Key Largo
